What is this for?

Its aim consists in identifying the most challenging problems in climate research for the delivery of reliable climate information to both public and private stakeholders. ECOMS is created to make recommendations to the European Commission for priorities for European activities relating to observations, modeling and services to be aligned with the Global Framework for Climate Services. The generated information is also expected to help shaping the research that the Commission will propose for funding as part of the next framework programme, Horizon 2020.

These are the main objectives of ECOMS:

*Ensure close coordination between projects and activities in

*Provide thought leadership to the European Commission on future priorities in the area of seasonal to decadal climate predictions towards climate services.
